Pottery Fundamentals with Samantha Decker-Hoppen
Want to help develop your child's creative side? Pottery is a wonderful way to explore artistic expression and focus. This class is an introduction to the world of clay with an emphasis on developing pottery fundamentals and individual creativity. Students will use the wheel as well as hand building using slab, coil and pinch methods. Bowls, plates, mugs, boxes, and planters will be decorated using stamping, carving, press molding and drawing. Pieces will be painted with non-toxic commercial glazes to make them food-safe and durable. Completed projects will be available for pickup after they are fired, usually 3-4 days after the last class.
